Little Sprogs Nanny Agency offers a tailored service for families with special needs children, I have a great deal of knowledge in the area of special needs and understand from family experience all too well the emotional and physical needs of a family with a special child/children in its midst. We are able to spend time getting to know the individual families and will research any condition so we are able to provide details to each candidate before she/he meets each family. We are constantly recruiting staff to work as special needs nannies and babysitters for school holidays, evening weekends as well as full time and part time work. We look for each candidate to have appropriate qualifications experience and confidence.

On all our reference forms we ask girls about whether they have special needs experience and the level of that experience. Therefore we are able to provide for parents who need this level of care for their children.

We have many nannies registered who are either qualified or have experience with special needs and are quite often looking for such positions. We offer a personal service where a consultant will come out to visit the parents at their home to discuss the position and the sort of person that would be most appropriate. This is a service that we offer to all of our clients, however, with special needs positions it is even more important as sometimes the parents find it impersonal to discuss certain issues over the telephone. It also helps us in finding someone that not only will fit in well with the family but will also be able to cope with a more challenging role.

The Maternity Nurse Company

We have a number of Maternity Nurses who are experienced at caring for special needs/ high dependency babies ie: tubefed/oxygen dependant babies. Such nurses enjoy the opportunity to help settle a new baby at home and will help new parents develop confidence in caring for their new addition. We welcome enquiries from parents of babies with special needs.

A number of our nannies have had experience with autism, hyperactive children and mentally and physically handicapped children. At present we have 4 nannies with such experience.

Although we don't specialise in special needs, part of our interview procedure explores candidates special needs experience. So at any one time we do have candidates with a range of special needs experience or those who are looking specifically for a job working with special needs children. We are willing and will try our best to help clients with special needs children. On a personal level, I have a limited experience of special needs so can empathise with parents and have some understanding of the concerns and difficulties they face when looking for childcare.

would suggest that interested clients contact us to discuss their needs and we will endeavour to help.

We do occasionally see qualified nannies who have specialised in this area, but do not as rule deal exclusively with this type of post. However if you did have an enquiry we would be happy to source a suitable applicant through our general national advertising campaigns.

Area: Hampshire, Surrey, International Dorset, Berkshire and Wiltshire
We do occasionally provide Special Needs Nannies and we are certainly requested by families for this type of childcare. We are able to assist people if we have a specific requirement but at present we do not have a specialist division for the same.

Tinies Childcare Bristol / Bath
We always ask Nannies if they are interested in or have experience of special needs. If so we make notes of their exact experience i.e. which needs they have dealt with etc. I find quiet a few of my girls would like special need work but I rarely get asked!
