Best Bear provides reassurance to parents

Which? undertook undercover research, with a member of their team posing as a 22yr old with no qualifications or nanny experience, and found that a quarter of agencies would be happy to take her on, many without even asking for references or police checks. As a result of their research, Which? is calling on the government to develop a comprehensive national nanny registration scheme.

In the meantime, they recommend that parents use Best Bear's website www.bestbear.co.uk, stating "One alternative for parent to visit www.bestbear.co.uk. Best Bear use a methodology similar to ours, approaching agencies with a relatively inexperienced nanny and asking probing questions. They have contacted over 1,000 agencies, and their website recommends only those that pass their tests. Of the 849 agencies they checked last year, they recommend only 213".

Best Bear understands how important it is for parents to sign up with reputable agencies when searching for the best childcare for their child(ren) and we continue to check agencies on a regular basis to ensure that we recommend only the best agencies on our website. Our proven methodology is designed to protect and reassure parents, and all agencies listed with us have been thoroughly vetted for a number of criteria. Our research is ongoing, ensuring that parents can continue to trust agencies listed on our site.
