Bestbear Childcare Ltd was established in 1998 to create the only comprehensive and quality controlled guide to childcare agencies across the UK, which would help parents make informed decisions when choosing childcare services.

Bestbear provides a unique and ongoing nationwide survey of childcare agencies in the UK, using a proven research methodology. To date over a thousand agencies have been investigated and those that passed have been invited to advertise their agency details on the Best Bear website.

Bestbear has subsequently expanded to provide the most comprehensive one stop shop for childcare services for parents, childcarers, agencies, nurseries and employers. As part of the expanded services, Best Bear offers parents and nurseries the opportunity to place job adverts in front of the thousands of childcarers who regularly use the Best Bear website, and is currently undertaking a unique survey of daycare nurseries, using feedback from parents to give a true picture of the services provided.

The Team

Sally Harrison: Director. Having worked at the BBC for six years and Channel 4 for five I have done a variety of jobs in TV; everything from researching topical guests for the Wogan show, booking celebrities guests for Ruby Wax and Light Lunch, directing and editing inserts and producing live OBs on the Big Breakfast. With twelve nieces and nephews so far, ranging from a 21 year old to a new born, I have had plenty of hands on child experience.

Abigail Evershed: I worked in the beauty industry for six years for a leading skincare and cosmetic's house. Now I'm working for Best Bear I find my job much more rewarding, dealing with real life issues. Nothing is more satisfying than when a parent finds the right childcarer through us. I have one gorgeous godchild and plenty of friends who are beginning to have children, so I have a great understanding of how difficult and important it is to find good quality childcare.

Eve Tomlinson: Co-Founder: As a mother of two boys I am learning that having two children doesn't double the work for some reason it qualdruples it. I became convinced that Best Bear was a badly needed service after having nightmares trying to find childcare and discovering there were hundreds of other mum in the same boat.

Tania Fallon: Co-Founder: I have three children, Max who is 7, Isobel, 3, who has a rare disability called Angelman Syndrome and Eddie, born in 2002. I knew Best Bear was a great idea after suffering bad experiences trying to find a good nanny agency in my area. Since starting the business chilcare has never been a problem again!

Sharon Smith: Editor: I am mum to 17 month old Caspar. I have worked in Marketing Communications for over 10yrs, but gave it all up when I became pregnant with my son, so that I could rest during my pregnancy (40wks of morning sickness) and also so that I could stay at home with Caspar. I have been undertaking some freelance work since he was 4 months old, and am now very pleased to be working with Best Bear in an editorial role.

Agency Listings

If you would like your Childcare Agency to be considered for a listing on the Best Bear Childcare website, please email info@bestbear.co.uk

We test all agencies using our own unique research methodology, and only invite agencies who pass our strict criteria to have a listing on the website. It does not cost anything to be listed on our website, however we do charge a small referral fee for any quality referrals sent through to agencies from parents or childcarers requesting contact.

We do not charge any referral fees during the first month that agencies are listed with us. This way agencies can see the benefits of being with Best Bear Childcare before making a financial commitment.

If any of the referrals we send through are inappropriate (for instance, not real customers or out of your geographical area) you will not be charged for these leads.
