In addition they put au pairs in contact with other au pairs who live within the area, helping to alleviate the feeling of homesickness. Eden Nannies

We have many nannies registered who are either qualified or have experience with special needs and are quite often looking for such positions. We offer a personal service where a consultant will come out to visit the parents at their home to discuss the position and the sort of person that would be most appropriate. This is a service that we offer to all of our clients, however, with special needs positions it is even more important as sometimes the parents find it impersonal to discuss certain issues over the telephone. It also helps us in finding someone that not only will fit in well with the family but will also be able to cope with a more challenging role.

Angela Hovey, a trained Norland Nanny, has owned and personally run this agency for the passed 20 years.Angela has been careful to select professional and dedicated office staff and very importantly, those with firsthand childcare experience. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience or the necessary qualifications in order to register with the agency. All candidates are interviewed in person and their references, ID and qualifications are thoroughly checked. This is time consuming but it is the only way they can be sure that their clients are offered the best staff available to match their individual needs.
St James and Temporary Nannies

Nannies of St James was set up in 1994 and in 2001 bought Temporary Nannies. They provide nannies for overseas families; both for British families relocating overseas and for foreign clients seeking nannies. This agency provide a professional and personal consultancy for clients in the UK, offering advice, assistance and discretion. When placing a nanny with a family they take a lot of time checking candidates and only send the details of nannies they feel are ideally suited to the position being offered. They speak with the nannies personally, outlining the job description and then if they are keen to be put forward send through their details for the clients consideration. All nannies are personally interviewed and their references and ID checked- CRB checks must be under two years old for nannies looking for UK placements, or for overseas nannies, 6 months or less. Nannies from other countries recently arrived in the UK must bring their police check from their home country which must be 6 months old or less.
The Maternity Nurse Company

We have a number of Maternity Nurses who are experienced at caring for special needs/ high dependency babies ie: tubefed/oxygen dependant babies. Such nurses enjoy the opportunity to help settle a new baby at home and will help new parents develop confidence in caring for their new addition.
