Come September, the summer holidays will be over and you will be returning to the dreaded problem facing parents everywhere – what to put in you children’s school lunchboxes that is both tasty and nutritious.Well, help is now at hand with this practical workshop. We will share with you secrets of delicious, healthy food that your children will love, while helping to boost their behaviour and performance. Understandably, not everyone has the time to handmake everything for their children’s lunch, so we will also give you handy tips for checking product labels to help you ensure that the treats you give your children are healthy. You’ll never have to worry about lunches again!
This course will include: • Cookery demonstrations • Food sampling • Hints and tips for allergies and fussy eaters • Ways to make fruit and veg more fun • Healthy treats and lunchbox solutions
This course is being run with Best Bear expert Christine Bailey MSc PGCE. Christine is an experienced nutritional and dietary educator, chef, and health and food consultant. She is also a qualified cookery teacher and regularly teaches at various cookery schools, nutrition colleges, schools, community centres and training centres. She is an advisor to healthy schools programmes, early years teams and the National Childminders Association. She has produced several recipe books including Tasty Treats for Healthy Kids, The TOP 100 Low Salt Recipes (Duncan Baird Publishers) and The Intelligent Way to Lose Weight (co-authored with Dr Mark Atkinson, 2009 www.highernature.co.uk).
