Peter Scott graduated with an honours degree in Wildlife Illustration in 1986 and has always taken a keen interest in natural history. A thousand mile road trip across Africa enabled him to sketch and photograph the landscape and its animals. Now living in East Yorkshire, his daily walk to his studio along a riverbank, continues to provide him with inspiration.
We asked Best Bear member, and mum of three, Vicky to review this book for us - this is what she had to say:
My four year old daughter is absolutely animal mad at the moment, so it was great timing to be asked to review a book that is jam packed with animal pictures and information. The book is now a firm favourite in our house, and not just at bedtime either. The illustrations throughout are absolutely stunning, you can spend hours looking through them and sharing them with your child. My favourite is the Hummingbird, my daughter loves the Dolphin and the Tiger best. At the back of the book there is a wealth of information about each of the animals featured in the book. This gives the book potential to be a firm favourite for a long time, as it can be a reference book for my daughter as she gets older too. And imagine her surprise when we got to the end of the book and found the wall frieze, which is now proudly attached to her bedroom wall. A stunning book, suitable for children of all ages, and a perfect gift for birthdays and Christmas.
