Small things make a big difference

Start off the season of goodwill in style - clear your kids’ cupboards of clothes that no longer fit and help support the Pampers and UNICEF campaign

After one of the dullest summers since records began, the winter is finally upon us, and once again the family has grown – meaning that a new winter coat and boots is a must for the little ones! So if you knew that by selling a jumper or coat that no longer fits, you could save the lives of mothers and babies in developing countries, would you?

Because small things make a big difference, Pampers has created special fundraising packs to help support the leading children’s charity UNICEF. Pampers and UNICEF have joined forces for the third year in their continued commitment to ensure the protection of millions of mothers and babies around the world against maternal and newborn tetanus. But this year’s Pampers’ campaign will go one step further and support UNICEF in its work to help countries achieve the goal of eliminating maternal and newborn tetanus by 2012*.

Visit www.pampers.co.uk to check out some ideas on ways you can help – big or small – towards the campaign, and call 0207 395 7133 to request a special Pampers fundraising pack to be sent to you so you can help Pampers support UNICEF’s goal to eliminate tetanus as fast as possible.

Dr Francois Gasse, UNICEF Senior Health Specialist, Maternal and Newborn Tetanus says: “It is unacceptable to see a disease that has disappeared from the industrialised world still occur in less industrialised countries. We have to do that little bit extra and make this disease history.”

Bring & Buy sales are a great way of passing on any items you no longer want and picking up baby bargains. But if you fancy doing something a little different, or are already taking part in a fun run, then why not donate a percentage of your fundraising total to Pampers and UNICEF? Or how about having your friends over for a coffee morning or cocktail party (once the kids are in bed) and donating the proceeds from your homemade cakes, cocktails or coffees towards the campaign?

During your usual nappy shop, just by choosing special packs of Pampers nappies during October, November and December you can help to save lives. The 1 pack = 1 vaccine campaign makes it as easy as possible for mums to help Pampers and UNICEF provide vaccines to protect those less fortunate than themselves against tetanus – a disease that has been eliminated in the western world, but each year still claims the lives of over 170,000 mums and babies a year in developing countries.

But to meet the ambitious aim of eliminating maternal and newborn tetanus by 2012, we need to go above and beyond this and raise even more money to donate towards the Pampers and UNICEF campaign so we can help eliminate the disease as fast a possible.

Do your bit towards helping babies around the world today…
